Wedding 2014
"GORGEOUS FOOD, BRILLIANT PLANNING, A DELIGHTFUL AND STRESS-FREE DAY.
Back in 2013, Jules and I decided to host her brother’s wedding in our garden at Mouans Sartoux. The date was set for July 6th and, as many of the guests were flying in from the US, the happy couple asked us to host an Independence Day party on July 4th to welcome them. Suddenly, we felt as if we’d bitten off more than we could chew.
That was until we met Ruth!
If you are planning some sort of event that requires food, we’d suggest you look no further than Ruth Williams. She’s brilliant.
What exactly did she do? Pretty much everything.
For the July 4th BBQ, she prepared all the food and delivered it ready to be cooked and served. (I did the honours behind the burners and have never received such compliments for my cooking. “The best hamburger I’ve ever tasted!” was a constant refrain. And the same could be said of the Caesar salad.)
In preparation for the wedding, Ruth came to our house in June and prepared three full menus for tasting. It was a feast and choosing which to serve was a challenge. But one that we rose to!
In the run up to the big day, she organised all the services we would need - tables, chairs, cutlery, plates, glassware, linen, staff. All of it. And once the celebration began, we enjoyed delicious canapés while she cooked the most exquisite, three course meal. She catered for a sixty guests with about as much fuss as a Michelin chef would make while boiling an egg. She’s incredibly calm and well organised. Jules and I never felt one flicker of pressure or tension throughout the evening as we knew that everything was under her control. The bride and groom will always be grateful to us for providing a sunny day and a garden for their wedding. For everything else the credit goes to Ruth.
